Chapter I :the two kingdoms

Now when the Pharisees heard it they said,“This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? Matt 12 v 24-26

This speech  made by Jesus himself clearly demonstrates that Satan has a kingdom as well. Most often this fact is either not known or is just ignored. The kingdom of God which is the kingdom of light has spiritual hosts called angels and the kingdom of darkness has evil spirituals workers called demons.

These are two opposing kingdoms which have been in conflict since the fall of Lucifer (chapter III). As Christians we need to know the operations of this kingdom of darkness and understand the enemies we face, for they are constantly plotting our downfall and seek only to steal, kill and destroy us,and thwart the purposes of God over our lives. This is a matter to be taken seriously.

In the ministry of Jesus, he cast out devils (unclean spirits) several times and he even gave authority to his followers to do so as well. This action alone demonstrates the fact that the kingdom of God is stronger than the kingdom of darkness. The reality is the stronger drives out the weaker so the power is on our side, the authority given but that does not mean there will be no resistance.
